The Marathon Search & Rescue (SAR) Dive watch is built to ISO 6425 standards and manufactured in accordance with US Government MIL-SPEC specifications. Designed for use by Search and Rescue divers and issued to the United States Marine Corps, the Marathon Search & Rescue Dive Watch is a watch built to withstand the most extreme conditions.
The JSAR or "Jumbo Search and Rescue" version features a large dial with large numbers for easy visibility as well as a large date window that displays the date. The original name given to the Jumbo Search and Rescue watch (JSAR) was the LGP. LGP stands for “Le Grande Plongeur”, which is French for “The Big Diver”.
It is water resistant down to 30 ATM - 300 meters (1000 feet) underwater. Built from 316L surgical grade stainless steel, the watch is a high quality, purpose built watch that will reliably accompany you wherever you take it. The rugged case, with solid flared crown guards, has a satin-brushed finish.
The matte black dial shows both 12-hour and military style 24-hour time with a large Date window at the 4:30 position. The dial is protected with a scratch resistant dome-shaped sapphire glass crystal with an anti reflective coating to ensure that the dial can be easily read even under direct sunlight or deep underwater.
The extra thick 120-click uni-directional bezel features large grooves which enable it to be rotated under all conditions - even when wearing gloves underwater. Whilst the black anodized bezel insert is engraved with white 60-minute markings for clear visibility and has a MaraGlo luminous triangle pip at the 12 o’clock position. The deeply knurled screw-down crown is also adjustable with wet hands or when wearing gloves.
The Marathon JSAR Search and Rescue Dive Watch is handmade in La Chaux de Fonds Switzerland to guarantee the highest level of quality and accuracy in manufacturing. The watch is powered by a Swiss made high-torque 3 jewels Quartz ETA F07 movement. This ETA F07 calibre also has an End of Life (EOL) indicator for the battery and hacking seconds, guaranteeing a very reliable and accurate timekeeping experience.
The JSAR uses Maraglo™ photo-luminescent paint to illuminate its syringe-styled hands and dial markers. Maraglo™ requires charging with an external light source and on the JSAR it will glow on its own for up to 8 hours after being exposed to light.
The watch comes with a high quality and extremely comfortable vulcanized rubber strap with the Marathon emblem etched into one of the keepers.
The Marathon JSAR Search & Rescue Dive Watch combines Military toughness with Swiss craftsmanship in a watch that will get the job done, and look good doing it.
